Children raising their hands

It was time to find out how well some of the children we have been helping are faring in terms of learning and the perfect time came when the PFF and Ministry of Women Affairs organized a Talent Drive which involved the participation of two of our children – Akinwande Judah (who moved everyone to tears during his presentation at the Bake Sales event we organized in 2016) and Blessing Olapade. They were both chosen to take part of a debate competition that was focused on national issues.

Akinwande Judah spoke on Economic Recession and the Nigerian Child while Blessing Olapade spoke about the Role of a Teacher in Nation Building. They were escorted by their Class Teacher and Odunayo Aliu.

Judah came first in debate and also became the overall performer while Blessing came second in her own category. Because of his stellar performance at the competition, Judah was invited to participate at HOWGA and to also speak in a special interview.

PFF Talent Drive was a good feedback and it showed that any child is capable of excellence if they are given proper love, care and attention in terms of provision of quality education, health and welfare. This also serves as an encouragement for us to reach out to as many children as possible within our capability. And in the future, we hope to organize this kind of event.
